On June 7, the Fiscal Research Center will host a presentation on "Tax Policy in Georgia’s 2018 Legislative Session." The event will recap tax-related bills that passed in Georgia’s 2018 legislative session, with a deeper look at a few particularly noteworthy bills.
Among other tax changes, attendees will learn more about the “economic nexus” bill (HB 61), passed to better position the state to collect taxes owed on online sales as the US Supreme Court is set to review a similar law in South Dakota, and HB 918, the income tax bill that addressed federal changes in the Tax Cut and Jobs Act that impact Georgia taxpayers and the state budget.
